Nicole Rodriguez-Gasperov is excited to embark on a new career designing jewelry and starting up MB Surplus with her good friend Jen Roskin. The two met after college in Manhattan Beach and years later bumped into each other at a local park with their infant sons. The rest is history! Nicole loves the unique boutiques around town, getting her inspiration from the beautiful clothing and home decor shops, not to mention the good beach living that surrounds her. She always knew she'd settle down by the water, working for herself someday after her media talents bounced her around the country. She's an award winning, Emmy-nominated news reporter who started on the airwaves at UCLA. She has worked as an anchor/reporter for ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox network affiliates throughout the West Coast. Her current travel writing for JohnnyJet.com, two kids, husband and MB Surplus is now keeping her busy and happy!!
Jen is a native Southern Californian who was born and raised in Manhattan Beach. After attending San Diego State University, Jen moved back to her hometown to pursue a career in film and television. She began her career with Merv Griffin, whom she worked for for many years until moving on to TriStar where she worked in film development. After leaving the studio, Jen moved to Centropolis Entertainment, where she not only worked on many films, but also met her husband Marc. After getting married and having her first child, Jen decided to stay home and raise her family. With the kids a bit older and more independent, Jen was ready to exercise her creative skills again. After many conversations with good friend Nicole, they knew that they could join forces and come up with something great…and that is where MB Surplus was born. Jen and Nicole love the laid back lifestyle of their town Manhattan Beach, and wanted to translate that into their jewelry designs..so everyone can have a little piece of this special lifestyle.
